The thesis also investigates what support women need throughout the different stages they go through during the process of leaving behind their lives as sex workers and how their self image changes throughout that process. Lastly, this study also inquires into women's perceived marginality towards the “normal” society due to their role as a prostitute. I have conducted six interviews with social workers, one police officer and two women with their own experiences of prostitution. I have used two theories to analyse my data, the process of role exit and liminality. (Less)
