“Varför just vi?”: En studie om tillit till rättssystemet och säkerhetszonernas inverkan

- Abstract
- The law concerning visitation zones has been widely debated in Sweden. While some see it as a necessary measure to fight the continuous gang violence, others are concerned it will create a divide between the police and the people in the areas they are put up. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to interview people with connections to high-crime areas about their opinions about the new law and their trust in and opinions of the police and legal system. This was then related to previous experiences with being the subject of visitations, and whether the implementation of the law or the experience of being searched had any impact on their trust in the legal system. The study was done via a method of semi-structured qualitative interviews, where seven people from Linköping, Sweden in the age range 25-30 were interviewed and results were drawn from the interviews via a thematic analysis. The results were then analyzed with theories on procedural justice and labeling theory. The results showed that while the opinions of the law and legal system differ, there are several risks to the implementation of the law in what its consequences might be for individuals' trust in the legal system. With the limited scale of the study in mind, it is recommended to do further research on a broader scale, and after the zones have been implemented. (Less)
