- Abstract
- After seeing the developments in both Hungary and Poland democracy seemed to be weakening in Europe. How resilient is the democracy of Denmark and Sweden? Two countries who year after year rank high on different democracy indexes. The strength of a democracy is found in its constitution. To measure the protection of democratic institu-tions in the constitutions of Denmark and Sweden, I created an analytical instrument by operationalizing the concept of liberal democracy. I applied this instrument on the constitu-tions of Denmark and Sweden to find to what extent the institutions are present.
