- The aim of this study was to examine how participation in football associations can be used to enhance integration work and what challenges the football leaders meet in their work with youths with migrant backgrounds.
I have conducted six qualitative semi-structured interviews with six leaders in different football associations. The empirical data was analyzed using theoretical concepts of social capital, norms and social inclusion and exclusion.
The football leaders expressed that football has many positive traits that can be used in integration work. Football can be used as a platform for people with different cultures and backgrounds to meet, integrate and build relationships with each other. The leaders also expressed that there are...
