Furthermore, the study has explored how nonprofit actors respond to and approach children and youths’ pornography consumption and their exposure to sexual violence. Lastly, the study researched the challenges and possibilities the nonprofit actors must face. The qualitative method used for our research has been a semi structured interview study where we interviewed six informants from various nonprofit organisations. We selected nonprofit organisations using two crucial criteria. The organisations needed to have a support service for children and youth and educate them on the subjects of pornography and sexual violence. The study’s key findings are as follows; the nonprofit actors play an important role in the school’s sex education program due to their great knowledge about pornography and sexual violence, their understanding approach towards children and youths, and their critical response to pornography and sexual violence. The study also found that the nonprofit actors’ intervention is sporadic rather than long-term which according to our study is problematic. Furthermore, the study found that there seems to be a generational gap between adults and children and youth in terms of the definition of relationships, sex, sexual violence, and pornography. According to our study, the nonprofit actors approach this with critical conversations including knowledge, understanding, and facts rather than a lecture about morals. This seems to be something the children and youth themselves also appreciate and ask for. The theories used in our analysis are mainly the neo-institutional perspective, Durkheim’s theories about education and socialisation, and Michel Foucault’s theoretical concept of bio-power. This study endeavors to contribute to a heightened awareness of how important the nonprofit actors are to the school’s relationship, sex, and health education when it comes to pornography and sexual violence. This also leads to further questions due to the nonprofit organisation's unsure long-term basis; How secure is it that the school system is relying on civil society to implement a mandatory part of the school’s curriculum?
