Abstract
The present study examined the relationship between identity leadership and
employee well-being. Given the limited empirical evidence on the relationship
between the specific identity leadership dimensions (prototypicality,
advancement, entrepreneurship and impresarioship) and employee well-being,

municipal departments (N = 81). The results showed that identity leadership is
positively correlated to employee well-being. More specifically, prototypicality
and advancement were positively linked to employee well-being and job and
career satisfaction, while impresarioship was the strongest... (More)

career satisfaction, while impresarioship was the strongest predictor of
employee well-being. Additionally, social support partially mediated the
relationship between identity leadership and employee well-being. In
conclusion, the study found that identity leadership is most effective when all
its dimensions are considered collectively. These findings contribute to a
broader understanding of how identity leadership relates to employee
well-being in Swedish organizational settings. (Less)
