To answer the research questions, the study zooms in on and is structured as a case study of the alcohol industry with a focus on packaging solutions. The dataset consists of both qualitative data, in the form of semi-structured interviews with industry actors, and quantitative data from an online survey focusing on consumer preferences and perception. The findings reveal enablers and barriers to innovative sustainable solutions, e.g. consumer perceptions, regulations, and internal organisational drivers. Furthermore, the study suggests that Sustainable Business Model transformation and Sustainability-Oriented Innovation are engaged in a dynamic interplay, where each process continuously influences and shapes the other.
