- The Healthcare Strike 2024 : An Oral History.
This bachelor thesis explores the effect of the 2024 strike by the Swedish Association of Health
Professionals on the subjectivity of its participants. Through oral history as method and theory,

The study contributes to a growing field concerned with the history of welfare strikes, especially
as told by the strikers themselves. Through the theoretical lenses, the meaning of the strikes
emerges as both an awakening and catalyst of solidarity, especially during the mobilization and
engagement phases, but also a source of disappointment and therefore a demoralizing effect
after the strike. Furthermore, three identity formations become clear: the nurse as a (historical)
calling, the nurse as an inward professional and the nurse as an outward proletarian –
individually and collectively. (Less)
