- Abstract (Swedish)
- This thesis examines how the architecture of Landskrona Konsthall is experienced. Building on a formalist analysis, it investigates two distinct phenomenological perspectives, Wölfflin’s concept of spatial forces and Rasmussen’s emphasis on sensory perception. Methodologically, the study combines reading of theory with on-site field observations, in which visual and sensory impressions are documented and analysed in relation to Wölfflin’s and Rasmussen’s theoretical frameworks. The findings show that Wölfflin focuses on tensions between the supporting and the seemingly floating, while Rasmussen highlights, among other aspects, how light, rhythm, and sound contribute to orientation and atmosphere. The two theories are complementary and... (More)

The two theories are complementary and offer different phenomenological insights. Overall, the case study demonstrates that the theories are analytically productive yet should be applied critically and may require supplementation by contemporary perspectives. (Less)
