Standardization, Value Configurations and Implications for Business Model Innovation
(2013) 17th EURAS Annual Standardisation Conference – Boosting European Competitiveness- Abstract
- Value configurations, originally in the form of the value chain, serve as descriptions of how value is created. They focus on the internal activity character in interaction with the environment and can be seen as the essence of business models. Here, the role of standardization in association with value configurations is clarified through the introduction of a framework outlining how process and output standardization are applied in internal and external settings. Particular attention is given to the implications for business model innovation.
