The essay compares the actions taken by the international organisations in Macedonia, a country which headed toward a violent conflict. The UN acted through the mission UNPREDEP and the EU through the mission of Concordia. These missions will be compared and evaluated in order to examine which conflict preventive methodes and instrument were used. To be able to cover several areas the theories used are social constructivist and theories regarding conflict prevention.
