Interviews and observations were analysed thematically to reach a greater comprehension of the phenomenon. The paper explores the challenges for the employees of temporary-help service firms created by their particular work arrangement. It highlights the conflict that arises for the contingent worker from being in a "no-man's-land", between two organisations. The results indicates that this gap exists and causes control and identification challenges. (Less)
