The main purpose of this essay was to make a critical study of how the social worker made the child perspective distinct in the administration of the supplementary benefit. The study revealed that children were seen and prioritized in the administration of the supplementary benefit, but that the social worker hardly never spoke personally to the children. Information about the children were mainly collected by asking the parents about the children´s situation and needs. The result of the study showed that the child perspective was used indirectly by asking the parents about the child and by helping the parents to become self-supporting. (Less)
