Abstract
A study was conducted to see which impact children's emotionality has on encoding social information. Earlier studies have focused on the whole process of social information processing (Crick and Dodge, 1994), especially the cognitive aspects. Lemerise and Arsenio (2000) brought in hypothesis to integrate emotions to this model. Though, there are no previous studies about how emotionality affects social information processing, until now. Children (N=30), age 11 and 12, and their two teachers participated. They completed questionnaires to rate their emotionality and a memory test to measure which type of information (positive, negative or neutral) they remembered.
