- Abstract
- This study examined if humanists are less prejudiced than normativists, and if normativists are more socially controlled than humanists. Can social dominance and right-wing authoritarianism predict prejudices? Is there a correlation between racism, and homophobia in explicit questionnaire measures of prejudice? How does a new test based on association between liked and disliked categories function in relation to prejudice? Two questionnaires were used as well as two Implicit Association Tests (IATs). 60 participants, 23 men and 37 women, mean age 19.5, took part. The results from the explicit tests did not accord with the implicit tests. The latter showed strong implicit prejudice. In the discussion the need for more research on personality traits and prejudice was stressed. (Less)
