The aim of the questions was to explore how parental leave affected the men's personal development and their relationship with the child and with their partner, as well as to identify any role models. The selection was restricted to fathers that are having, or have recently had, parental leave, and who are located in the southern part of Sweden. Our main conclusion is that the men's motives for parental leave are driven primarily by their concern for their relationship with the child, although positive consequences emerged in the form of also a more equal relationship with their partner, and a better sense of self value and identity of fatherhood. Paper will be presented in: Swedish. Keywords: fatherhood, parental leave, parenthood, equality (Less)
