- Abstract
- The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the effect of shame and sadness on stereotyping towards older/younger persons. Velten mood induction procedure was used to induce the relevant emotions. Research has shown that people in negative moods tends to use stereotypes in their evaluation of social groups to a lesser extent then people in positive moods. Hence it was relevant to study the effects of two different negative moods compared to a control group. Stereotyping was measured with two explicit test´s and one implicit test. No statistical significant differences was found between the three groups in this study.
