- Abstract
- The purpose of this paper was to obtain knowledge of crime preventional work and how it can be practiced. Through this obtained knowledge and with the aid of theorethical modells and a social-political perspective establish how crime preventional work should be practiced in Sweden today and lead to provable results. - The purpose of this paper was to obtain knowledge of crime preventional work and how it can be practiced. Through this obtained knowledge and with the aid of theorethical modells and a social-political perspective establish how crime preventional work should be practiced in Sweden today and lead to provable results. The following questions were of central importance for the paper. On what theorethical grounds does crime preventional work rest? What forms of crime preventional work are there? What kind of crime preventional work has been conducted, and how is it conducted today? What research is available concerning crime prevention? What forms of crime preventional work is rekommended by scholars? The paper has been carried out as a litterature study that has produced material for analysis. Main results of the study are that crime preventional work can be carried out in many forms and that the way the work has been conducted has varied over the past thirty years. It is not possible at this date to establish what kind of crime preventional work that is effective. More research is necessary. Crime prevention has for the past decade been turning its viewpoint towards crime prevention with controlling mechanisims, this is one of the issues discussed in the analysis. (Less)
