"BO" - att konstruera en klient: om bilden av missbrukaren i Socialtjänstens skriftliga material

- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to see how the client with drug problems is described in written material from two social welfare offices. Our questions were: - Can there be found a common image of the client in the written material? - If so, what does this image consist of? - What can be the cause of a common image of the client in the written material? - Are there differences between the two social welfare offices, in how the client is described? Since we knew little about this subject when we started, the study was exploratory. We used Grounded Theory to find patterns in the material. We then linked what we found to social constructivism and social categorisation and previous research. We found that there could be found a common image of... (More)

Since we knew little about this subject when we started, the study was exploratory. We used Grounded Theory to find patterns in the material. We then linked what we found to social constructivism and social categorisation and previous research. We found that there could be found a common image of the client in the written material and from this wrote a description of the "standard" client. We found that this common image can be the result of a social categorisation of the client. We also found certain differences in the image of the client between the two social welfare offices and linked some of these to the fact that one of these offices had a solution-focused approach.
