- The purpose of this study was to examine what importance the power of the authorities has on the profession of the social worker on the familycenter. The question at issue was: What do we in social work mean with authority power over the individual? What has the authority power for meaning at the familycenter? What meaning has the power for the social workers exercise of the profession at the familycenter? This study was a qualitative study that was based on six interviews with familycenter social worker. The social worker without the power of the authority had more time for more worktasks than social worker with the power. They also had no time for co-operate with the professional groups at the familycenter. The social worker without the power could decide by them self’s what work they should do.
