The method we used was qualitative. We studied literature and legislation which we supplemented with interviews. The main conclusions of the study was that the Polish school system in a social context, in terms of its' intentions, became more focused on upbringing of pupils and on the family's responsibilities within the school system at the end of the period. The religious education, taught by the Catholic Church, stayed more or less intact. A slow but systematic increase of the importance of pupils rights could be observed. The nationalism was still important thus the willingness of close relations to the European Union reduces the importance of it. (Less)
