We chose to give the study a geographical limitation, i.e. to five municipalities in the south of Sweden. Due to the limitations in our study, we could not find proof that changes in the criteria for right to participate in education within the special school have occurred. The result of our study showed that different structural changes combined together could be seen as the reason of the increase of pupils in the special school. These changes include legislative, organisational and work method changes within the Swedish school system and the general downturn of the Swedish economy. (Less)
