The essay is composed by theoretical and empirical studies. Data has been gathered by using a semistructured interview as a method. Ten interviews were realised. Object relations theory and Salutogene perspective were used to analyse the gathered data. The results agree to a large extent with previous research within this area. The child's life is to a high extent directed by the alcohol abuse of the parent. The every day life is, for most of the children, characterised by conflicts, unpredictable events and mystery making. Parent ability is often defective. Most of the interviewees' adult lives were affected in a negative way. (Less)
