- Abstract
- The essay is a cross section study whose aim was to examine if the Children’s sense of coherence scale (CSOC) is useful instrument for children in ages between 7- 10. The CSOC scale was compared to two other: Latter of Life and I think I am, which are due to measure similar qualities. A correlation study was made between the instruments. We have also examined if the results agree with Antonovsky´s salutogenic theory as well as we have looked for existence of differences in gender. Inquiry was carried out in public school there the sample consisted of 103 children (49 girls and 54 boys) in 1st to 4th Grades. Generally the boys have had slightly higher mean values than girls. Correlation between the instruments regarding primary department varied from faint to none. The conclusion is that CSOC as a self-form can be used in Grade 4 and for younger children we suggest individual administration. (Less)
