This was done empirically by performing semi-structured, qualitative interviews with eight of the project´s participants from a theoretical perspective based on the concepts of marginalization and empowerment. Our main research questions were:
How do the participants feel about the methods used in the project and in what way does the project seem to promote the participants' integration into society and employment? How do the participants perceive the project and what are the weaknesses and strengths of the project from the participants' point of view? How do the participants feel about their proximity to the labor market? Our interviews revealed that the participants received many valuable tools in their search for a job. Most of them were also pleased with the help and the support they received by the staff. Moreover the interview material lifts forward that the participants’ choices and opportunities for influence were limited. The participants’experiences of how well the staff understood their needs and situation was also varying. Despite the fact that the participants expressed that they had not yet come much closer to getting a job, the majority of the interviewees said that they had hope for the future and a belief that they would be able to support themselves as soon as the economic situation in the country would change for the better.
