- Abstract
- NCC’s main objective is to reduce their production costs by 5 % each year until 2012. Taking this into consideration, studies have been made to investigate the efficiency on today’s construction sites. There are certainly a considerable number of factors that contribute to today’s inefficiency on the construction sites. Our main objective with this report is to locate these factors, investigate them and then contribute with proposals concerning improvement and efficiency. The report was accomplished through case studies, a qualitative study consisting of interviews and a quantitative questionnaire study. There are certainly a considerable number of factors that contribute to today’s inefficiency on the construction sites. Our main objective with this report is to locate these factors, investigate them and then contribute with proposals concerning improvement and efficiency. The employees in question are local managers, contract engineers and construction workers. By analysing each occupational role working on the construction site, problems and difficulties has been concretisized and discussed with the intention to reform current situations. The investigation finally concludes that it’s possible for NCC to approach towards their objectives to reduce the production costs, assuming they introduce a check in/out system, which is one of our pronounced proposals (Less)
