Abstract
Lately mergers and acquisitions made larger power distribution companies. The economic benefits of those are carefully calculated. But what’s much more complicated is to calculate all consequence of mergers. Very few things in business are certain. The precision of science doesn’t apply to business. Universal “laws of nature” do not govern business; no formula “replicates” good management. Decision makers can’t predict the steps that make companies
succeed, no matter how nice it would be to get guaranteed results. But with careful investigation and strategic planning the negative consequences are reduced.

Lately mergers and acquisitions made larger power distribution companies. The economic benefits of those are carefully calculated. But what’s much more complicated is to calculate all consequence of mergers. Very few things in business are certain. The precision of science doesn’t apply to business. Universal “laws of nature” do not govern business; no formula “replicates” good management. Decision makers can’t predict the steps that make companies
succeed, no matter how nice it would be to get guaranteed results. But with careful investigation and strategic planning the negative consequences are reduced.
One of the consequences is clarify complexity of communication systems and integrate new merged company in existing communication system. Factors to treat are different technology, routine and future reliability.
The master thesis explains some of technical challenges E.ON Elnät Sverige AB have at the present time and what has to come in the future. It also explains and evaluates some aspects and comparisons between different solutions such as satellite communication, NMT450,Mobitex, radio etc. Furthermore the question about remote controlled switches is raised and
complexity to secure a high probability between SCADA and the object.
Consequently present projects have also to be taken in consideration and the author indicates vital part of those.
Final conclusion indicate that Mobitex is most effective way to communicate with remote controlled switches and satellite to less significant distribution stations. (Less)
