- Abstract
- This master thesis shows how microbial concentrations in raw water can be assessed by scenario modelling of microbial releases from known microbial sources. In this thesis an inventory of potential microbial sources in eastern Mälaren has been performed and 7 major sources of microbial pollution have been identified. The distribution modelling program SeaTrack Östra Mälaren has been used to model release scenarios from the identified microbial sources. By means of MonteCarlo simulations the likelihood of high concentrations of pathogen micro- organisms in the raw water outside the waterworks of Stockholm, resulting from pollution from the identified microbial sources, has been estimated.
