Abstract
This report is an evaluation of the personal safety at two orthopedic wards at Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge, Sweden. No considerations have been taken to material or economic damage. Computer
models have been used to simulate three scenarios. CFast have been used to simulate smoke movement, smoke layer temperature, toxicity and visibility. A computer program called Escape and rescue model have been used to calculate egress time. Output from the two programs has been compared to see if all patients can be brought to safety before critical conditions are obtained. The results weren’t satisfying in neither scenario. To better the safety, a list of measures has been suggested at the end of the report.
