- Abstract
- This report is a fire safety evaluation of Folkets Hus in Svedala, Sweden. The human safety is considered sufficient if the time required to complete evacuation is shorter than the time for critical conditions to emerge (available safe egress time). Based on the likelihood of occurrence and potential consequences, two representative fire scenarios were identified to verify if the human fire safety was satisfactory. To calculate the available safe egress time, the scenarios were simulated in either CFAST or FDS. This time was then compared with the required time for evacuation, which was calculated with the evacuation model Simulex. The conclusion supported by sensitivity analysis and hand calculations indicates with certainty that the... (More)

Since the results were not satisfactory, recommended measures to improve the fire safety are introduced in this report. (Less)
