The
Corporate
Planning
Process
within
ST-­‐Ericsson
requires
each
division
within
the
company
to
develop
its
own
five-­‐year
plan,
which
later
will
be
consolidated
into
a
corporate
long-­‐term
plan.
L3M,
the
division
subject
to
this
study,
has
so
far
only
submitted
one
long-­‐term
plan.
Both
the
process
of
developing
the
plan
and
the
plan
itself
was
considered
unsatisfactory.

process

all

the
division,
but
does
unfortunately
only
implement
a
few
of
the
ideas
presented
in
the
literature.
To
implement
the
ideas
presented
by
the
academia,
major
structural
changes
to
the
planning
process
are
required,
even
on
a
corporate
level,
which
is
out
of
the
scope
of
this
thesis.
Results
from
the
survey
show
that
all
of
the
participants
have
experience
of
long-­‐
term
planning
in
the
companies
they
currently
hold
a
position.
Interestingly
none
of
them
have
experience
of
companies
that
exploit
the
full
potential
of
planning,
by
including
all
areas
of
the
business
in
the
plan.
Although
no
statistical
conclusions
can
be
drawn
from
the
survey,
it
appears
that
planning
in
theory
is
a
lot
more
advanced
than
the
planning
processes
imple-­‐
mented
in
