To explore this, the thesis had the following question: What was the role of human rights in the peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine from the initiation of peace negotiations in 1991 to the adoption of the 'Declaration of Principles'? Through a theoretical basis describing the progress of peacemaking and a case study on peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine the thesis have demonstrated the role of human rights in peace negotiations.
