Undersøges hvordan stærk karakter, autoritet, autencitet, river gud/gudinde status og adventure identitet bliver skabt i interaktionen guide og kunde imellem. - This paper is a case-study of river rafting in California. The purpose is to contribute with an anthropological approach to the subject of risktaking within the adventure sport. The significance of the risk factor to identity creation af the rafting guide is examined. Furthermore it is examined, in which way strong character, autority, the stautus as river god/godish and adventure indentity is being created in the interaction inbetween guides and costumers. This through a mutual dependence and the help of specific tools, that is being used of the rafting guide on the river to create a feeling of danger in the costumer.
