The study was based on semi-structured interviews and the selection became mothers of children with ADHD. We did six interviews and our analysis was based on theories about coping and perspectives on protective factors and risk factors. One of the conclusions we found when the parents talked about some specific themes was that some aspects recurred. For example, in terms of family situation, several parents said they experienced their parenting as very demanding and many of the parents described it as a struggle. Under the theme support and help, none of the parents said that any support was directly addressed to them as parents and most of the parents wanted some form of support to gain the strength to keep fighting as parents.
