- Abstract
- The aim of this thesis is to investigate the preconditions for implementing a sustainable livestock sector in Pakistan during the period (1960-2002). This study examines the economic policies related with production structure, technology and infrastructure available for livestock producers. The production and consumption patterns of meat and milk are analyzed for investment opportunities. The role of institutions in implementing economic policies is discussed. From the investigation, I conclude that a Knowledge intensive system is needed to be implemented that supports infrastructure and institutions to attain sustainable growth.
