Our purpose is to elucidate and augment the understanding of the co-worker’s communicative roll in the lean organisation. The interpretative perspective has been our starting point for choice of theories as well as methods. Interviews and observations were conducted at the University hospital of Skåne. The analysis shows that the co-worker’s communicative roll is based on situation and daily work is influenced by a transmission view of communication. However, a sensemaking view co-exists alongside the transmission perspective. For further studies we recommend presuming a critical perspective since power structures have shown to influence the co-worker’s communicative roll. (Less)
