Our material has been analyzed according to theories of gender and normality. We have found that the self-injuries of adolescents are striking in the way they are expressed between genders. We have concluded that there are no gender differences underlying the reason for self-injury but it is completely individual. Finally we come to the conclusion a broader definition of self-injury is needed. (Less)
