Abstract (Swedish)
The use of business intelligence is getting more and more widespread. The next step in many cases is to enable a vast amount of employees to utilize this information and tools. This approach is generally described as business intelligence for the masses. By doing so, problems arise when casual users, who are not familiar with advanced business intelligence tools, are supposed to use these in their daily work. Since information quality is described as one critical factor for business intelligence success, the study of the thesis are thus how casual users perceive information quality in a business intelligence for the masses environment in an organisation.

Since information quality is described as one critical factor for business intelligence success, the study of the thesis are thus how casual users perceive information quality in a business intelligence for the masses environment in an organisation.

For this study, a research model is established which incorporates operational procedure and information quality as two key aspects of business intelligence for the masses. As an extension of the thesis purpose, an analysis of the dimensions in the constructed research model will be conducted in order to conclude if the model is well fit for its contemplated use. The empirical data are collected with a qualitative approach, where semi-constructed interviews are conducted with eight respondents. A part from casual users the study includes the CIO of the organisation as a respondent, which enables a description of how the organisation has approached the concept of business intelligence for the masses. Based on the dimensions in the research model, the empirical result shows that the information quality was perceived as high both due to role-adaption of the information as well as an integration of the information and system in the work process. Furthermore, the analysis of the dimensions in the research model shows that the model do fit well for its purpose. (Less)
