Abstract
The aim of this study was to highlight the relationship between individuals with professional social work education and social work practice, and how it could be understood from an employer’s point of view by using the theoretical framework of employability. In order to do so, we have conducted seven semi-structured interviews with people who are working as unit managers, operation managers or human resource managers within various areas of social work. These areas include elderly care, individual and family care and disability care. The authors conducted all interviews in the same municipality. Our goal was to make a qualitative analysis of the differences and similarities between employing social workers within different fields of social... (More)

Our goal was to make a qualitative analysis of the differences and similarities between employing social workers within different fields of social work rather than different geographical areas. Our findings conclude that employers’ views on education, work experience, intersectionality, and group dynamics are very complex and contextual. In addition there are lots of factors that play a part when hiring a social worker. (Less)
