Identifiering och klassificering av potentiellt förorenade områden i Dalby, Lunds kommun – En orienterande studie

- Abstract
- Today there are close to 90 objects of interest in Sweden who are considered a threat to the environment and people’s health. These objects are in the process of being decontaminated within a near future. All together there are 80 000 objects identified and 17 000 of them has been risk classified. According to the Swedish environmental goal “Poison free environment” the most important actions are to be done before the year 2020. In both Skåne and Lund there is an ongoing work to solve the problems with contaminated objects. According to Scania's environmental goals the ten most contaminated objects are to be handled before 2010 and in Lund the ambitions was to already have a plan for how to handle the most contaminated areas. With the help from the Metodik för Inventering av Förorenade Områden (MIFO) produced by the Environmental protection agency (EPA) in Sweden an identification of the areas with possible pollution has been done. The methodology is divided in two parts and this report has
only worked with the first part – the identification. With the help from “Branschkartläggning – en översiktlig kartläggning av efterbehandlingsbehover I Sverige” a report published by the EPA an evaluation has been done of the risk for environment and health of the different areas
in Dalby. Of the areas that have been examined in this study the most contaminated one are
definitely the one called “Dammen 3”. In the area “Dammen 3” a dry clean used to have its
location wich in 1988 was affected by a fire. The fire, together with careless handling of
chemicals are supposed to be the cause of “Dammen 3” being one of Skånes most
contaminated areas. Besides “Dammen 3” two old gas stations registered be Svenska
Petroleuminstitutet Miljösaneringsfond AB (SPIMFAB) has been identified including some
mechanic workstations in two places in Dalby where there has been gas pumps belonging to
some smaller businesses. Overall there have not been many objects of interests in Dalby for
further investigation.
From the beginning Dalby was an agriculture city. A relatively small down town surrounded
by agriculture land and farms has for many generations been the typical appearance for the
city. Driven by the technical changes the agriculture area has become smaller and smaller and
Dalby has expanded in form of new built houses and apartments. Today, Dalby is a small city
about ten kilometers outside Lunds city and are most of all residence for people working in
the Malmö-Lund area. No heavier industry except for the stone industry that still is today has
its production in Dalby. (Less)
