Syfte: Det övergripande syftet med uppsatsen är att studera människors upplevelser i en pågående förändringsprocess. Studien ska sätta fokus på individens egna berättelser för att försöka förstå vad den upplevda arbetsvardagen ger för implikationer för den enskildes yrkesroll och identitetsarbete.
Metod: Forskningen bygger på en reflekterande ansats där semistrukturerade djupintervjuer med tio respondenter fungerar som den empiriska illustrationen av den upplevda arbetsvardagen i en sjukvård i förändring. En genomgång av existerande litteratur ger ett ytterligare stöd för att undersöka och belysa tvetydigheten i människans komplexa och dynamiska natur.
Teoretiskt perspektiv: Identitetsarbete som en konstruktion i ett socialt sammanhang, förändring som ett kontinuerligt inslag i organisationen, och språkbruk som ett medel för kommunikation.
Empiri: Berättelser från bröstcancerprocessen på Sahlgrenska Universitetssjukhuset i Göteborg i kontexten Den goda cancervården, Regionalt Cancercentrum Väst.
Slutsatser: Studien leder fram till två centrala slutsatser. Några av de berörda är mindre delaktiga i Den goda cancervården och påverkas därmed mindre utav den. Andra är mer insatta i processen och ger uttryck för ett mer ambivalent förhållningssätt till sin yrkesroll. (Less) - Abstract

Purpose: The main purpose of the thesis is to study people’s lived experience of everyday work in a health care organisation in an ongoing organisational change. The emphasis of the study is the individual’s own stories. The attempt is to understand what implications the lived experience of everyday work has for the professional identity and the identity work of the single individual.
Methodology: The research is inspired by a reflective approach where semi structured interviews with ten respondents act as the empirical illustration of the individual’s lived experience of everyday work of a health care organisation in an ongoing organisational change. Additionally, a review of existing literature within certain aspects of the field, gives further support for the need to emphasise the importance of the ambiguous, complex and dynamic nature of man.
Theoretical perspectives: Identity as a construction of a social context, change as a continuous feature of the organisation, and language as the medium for communication.
Empirical foundation: Stories from the breast cancer process at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg in the context Den goda cancervården, Regionalt Cancercentrum Väst.
Conclusions: Two major points were discovered through the study. Some of the respondents were less involved with Den goda cancervården, and thereby less influenced by the process. Others, who were involved to a higher extent in the process, expressed a higher degree of ambivalence to their professional identity. (Less)
