- Chemicals exist ubiquitously around us in the food we eat, in the clothes we wear and in the buildings where we live. Due to the input of chemicals in building materials, the materials constitute a risk and can damage human health and the environment. A non-toxic environment is one of three prioritized areas in the environmental work in Norrköping municipality. The
overall ambition is to reduce use, prevent distribution and phase out chemicals that are dangerous. The building group has compiled guidelines for the municipality building sector. A follow-up of the guidelines by interviewing seven participants in the municipality building sector showed that these guidelines have not been implemented.
