- Abstract
- The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate effects of warping and distortion in thin-walled box-girder bridges, see figure below. The master thesis deals with a number of different analytic methods, which are compared to finite element models.
Transverse distortional bending moments and direct stresses, caused by torsional and distortional warping, is determined by analytic methods. Simple load-cases and different wall-thickness have been used, when the methods have been compared.
The master thesis also contains a chapter, which deals with load-cases according to the Swedish code, BRO 94. The load-cases according to BRO94 give realistic stresses.
