Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze how the Lund municipality works with crime prevention with youths. To perform the study, we interviewed seven people from five different organizations and authorities with different professions and work assignments in Lund municipality. The people we chose were two social workers, one police commissioner, two fieldworkers, one psychologist and one youth recreation leader. The most important conclusion the study showed was that collaboration between organizations and authorities is the key to a successful work with crime prevention. Some risk factors can be; a non existing education, an unstable family or/and older siblings that are criminal. Safety factors are also something to notice and make sure that the youth has in its life. The more safety factors a youth have the better. Some example of safety factors can be; a safe and stable family, a good education and a healthy and active leisure. Crime prevention actions work best when it is implemented early in a young person’s life. (Less)
