In order to understand users’ acceptance of mobile banking in China, demystifying users’ perceptions and knowledge about what influences users’ behavioral intention toward mobile banking in China are required.
Purpose: the purpose of this study was to explain users’ acceptance of mobile banking in China. In order to achieve that, users’ perceptions, attitudes toward mobile banking and influential factors affecting their behavioral intention toward mobile banking in China were measured and identified.
Method: this study adopted a deductive approach and collected quantitative data through questionnaire-based survey. Nine hypotheses regarding the hypothetical factors in the proposed research model were developed based on literature review. By using statistical techniques (Excel, SPSS and AMOS) to analyze the empirical data, the authors measured users’ perceptions and tested the hypotheses between hypothetical factors within the research model.
Conclusion: the result showed that users generally perceive mobile banking in China positively but this positive attitude is not particularly strong. The factors that affect users’ behavioral intention of using mobile banking are monetary value, perceived usefulness, credibility, task-tech match, perceived ease of use respectively. Furthermore, the identified factors can improve the understanding of users’ motivation of mobile banking acceptance in China. By addressing those influential factors, the service can be enhanced by banks and consequently lead to improvement of users’ acceptance of mobile banking in China. (Less)
