research question, which the study is built upon is: What are the students’ impressions and
experiences of the creative process that took place during the Lovewell Teen Oskarshamn
2012 summer workshop and what, from their own perspective, have they learned through participating
in the workshop? The results of the study found that: a) the creative process is a
largely positive experience for the participants, which is accredited to the strong sense of
communal action toward a common goal, b) Their presenting of the final product, the completed
musical, was one of the most powerful experiences for the participants, a moment filled
with emotions of profound pride and joy, and finally c) By participating in the workshop, the
students express that they have acquired increased and/or improved self-confidence and selfesteem
as well as various collaborative skills. (Less)
