- Abstract
- This master thesis evaluates a structured method presented by Nilsson et al. (2013) for development of fire scenarios for multifunctional buildings considering protection of functions as well as antagonistic exposures. The method is evaluated by implementing it practically on an existing multifunctional building. The master thesis also analyse exposures, both antagonistic and accidental, that can escalate scenarios into domino effects. The study is based on interviews with stakeholders to the existing multifunctional building. An extensive literature search was conducted and with help from discovered literature and answers from the interviews was the method analysed. - This master thesis evaluates a structured method presented by Nilsson et al. (2013) for development of fire scenarios for multifunctional buildings considering protection of functions as well as antagonistic exposures. The master thesis concludes that the established safety level complying with building codes and common used performance-based design is usually not enough safety precautions, taking consequences and risks associated with antagonistic threats and domino effects into account.
