The thesis starts with two theoretical frameworks of the driving forces behind changes in industrial relations in the swedish labour market. These frameworks are then applied on changes in industrial relations from early 20th century, to the signing of the Saltsjöbad agreement until todays Industriavtal with the role of the industrial organizations and the government. An interview study with representatives from employers associations and trade unions aims to reveal the relations in the manufacturing and export industry, and between this industry and other branches of the economy. The results show how conflicting interests finds common interests against other actors in the labor market and with the government. (Less)
