- In 2017 the European Commission will implement a new regulation on organic farming. The
purpose of this essay is to examine how organic farmers and agricultural advisors believe the
proposed regulation potentially will affect Swedish organic agriculture. In addition, the
opportunities for farmers and agricultural advisors to influence these kinds of decisions are
evaluated. The study is based on qualitative interviews with organic farmers and agricultural
advisors. In the light of the interviews, selected parts of the proposal are discussed.
A few positive aspects of changes to regulation are presented, but the overall impression is that
