- Forskningen kring äldre vuxna med lindrig kognitiv störning har utmynnat i en differentiering av lindrig kognitiv störning i grupper vilket medförde ett be-hov att omvärdera tidigare kunskap i ljuset av de nya insikterna. Syftet med den aktuella studien var att undersöka kognitiva nedsättningars påverkan på komplexa aktiviteter i dagligt liv (IADL), förekomsten av svårigheter i IADL samt ångest- och depressionsrelaterade symptom hos personer med lindrig kognitiv störning. Materialet inhämtades från studien om Tidig Demensdiagnostik i Skåne (N = 402). Resultaten visade att nedsättningar i exekutiva funktioner och minne endast i mindre omfattning bidrog till svårigheter i IADL. Ålder och antal utbildningsår stod för en större del av variationen i hur personer med lindrig kognitiv störning hanterade uppgifter som antas ställa krav på högre mentala funktioner. Resultaten på gruppnivå visade att samtliga grupper med lindrig kognitiv störning hade svå-righeter med IADL, dock i olika grad. Grupperna uppvisade även olika nedsätt-ningar beträffande typ av aktivitet. Den föreliggande studien kunde inte bekräfta förekomsten av skillnaderna mellan grupper avseende ångest- och depressionsre-laterade symptom. Det noterades emellertid att det förekom personer i varje grupp med ångest- och depressionsrelaterade symptom. (Less)
